We also extend our course offerings to therapists and physicians interested in learning more about the science of sound, and how singing bowls can be an effective tool for clients to access inner calm, destress, and focus. *Hands on practicals are held in our beautiful Sound Healing Showroom at the OM Shoppe & Spa in Sarasota, FL along with a blended digital learning enviroment.
*Crystal Singing Bowls will be provided for participants to use during practical sessions.
Meet Your Instructor
A native of Mexico, she immigrated to the United States, when she was 4 years old. She was immersed in music at a very early age, starting with piano, at the age of 6, and violin at the age of 14. While still in high school, she excelled in regional competitions and performed with symphonies and chamber groups in Southern California. She earned a scholarship to study music at La Sierra University, but opted, instead, to reconnect with her roots through her B.A. in cross-cultural studies.
She went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, with an emphasis in applied anthropology, from Georgia Southern University. As an anthropologist, she developed a wellness education program for Latina migrant women experiencing interpersonal violence. Her research into mind-body medicine, and the time she spent with the strong and beautiful community of women she worked with inspired her to pursue more deeply her own journey of wellness. This led her to return to the music that had been such a source of healing throughout her life.
As a professional violinist and session musician, Zulema performs with numerous acts, composes music, and continues to research sound therapy and wellness, especially in relation to deep journeying and musical traditions from around the world. Sound is a powerful medium for the transference of energy, and so, she aims, with reverence and compassion in each note she plays, to step out of the way and give voice to the stories of the human spirit.

What will I need for class?
We provide bowls for use during practicals, but for personal practice, we highly recommend getting a set of your own crystal singing bowls. Etiquette for your In Person Class Experience
Graduation & Sound Bath Performance Last Night of Practicals
- Arrive without strong scents on you (i.e., perfume, cologne, or body odor).
- Be respectful of the sensitivities of those around you.
- Do not touch additional sound bath instruments, unless you ask permission. Some are personal instruments of the sound practitioners, but we will be happy to show you how to approach the shop instruments for sale.
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early, so you have time to settle into your seats and receive instruction before the journey begins.
- Do not talk during the sound meditation portion of your classes. Silence all cell phones and other distracting devices.
- Do not drink alcohol or use drugs before or during the sound experience.
- If you need an extra blanket to be comfortable, please bring it.
